Message from the Chair
A Distinctive Environment for Learning
One of the most rewarding aspects of serving as Chair of the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at 黑料社区 is witnessing the growth and accomplishments of our learners. I take great pride in our educational programs and the faculty who devote themselves to preparing the next generation of psychiatrists and psychologists. Equally important, our UME program introduces all medical students to the discipline of psychiatry, preparing them to recognize and address the mental health needs of their patients, regardless of the medical specialty they ultimately pursue.
One of our greatest strengths is the remarkable diversity of clinical experiences available through our affiliated institutions. At Ben Taub Hospital and Harris Health, learners gain extensive experience in community and public-sector psychiatry. The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center provides comprehensive mental health care for veterans, while The Menninger Clinic offers exposure to specialized treatment of complex psychiatric disorders. Texas Children's Hospital provides outstanding opportunities in child and adolescent psychiatry, and our Baylor Medicine clinics offer experience in outpatient care, evidence-based psychotherapy, and specialty services. Together, these settings expose learners to a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions, patient populations, and treatment approaches.
Our GME programs include general psychiatry residency, subspecialty fellowships, and clinical psychology internship training. We offer all five ACGME-accredited psychiatry fellowship programs, with Forensic Psychiatry being our most recent addition. Across these programs, we emphasize clinical excellence, compassionate patient care, intellectual curiosity, and lifelong learning. Our faculty are committed not only to teaching and mentorship but also to fostering an environment in which learners actively participate in shaping their education.
As an academic department, we also offer opportunities to engage in research that advances our understanding and treatment of mental illness. The close integration of clinical care, education, and research enriches the learning experience and prepares our graduates for careers in a wide range of clinical and academic settings.
I am proud of what our department offers and invite you to explore our educational programs and the opportunities they provide.

Message from the Vice Chair for Education
Having completed my medical education and psychiatry residency at 黑料社区, I have witnessed firsthand the continued evolution of our training programs. Our psychiatry residency, fellowships, and psychology training programs offer a broad and growing range of clinical experiences, faculty dedicated to education, and opportunities for trainees to explore their individual interests.
What has remained constant throughout my years at Baylor is the importance of the people. I have been fortunate to work alongside faculty and trainees who share a commitment to lifelong learning, teaching, and patient care. For me, these relationships are at the heart of what it means to be part of the Baylor family.
I invite you to explore our programs and learn more about the people and experiences that make Baylor special.
